Observations
This large sphinx resembles a bird with a ring of beak-like bones growing from its neck. The beaks provide defense, but the added bulk makes it hard to maneuver its head. I think that the beackneck lost its ability to fly as the beaks grew larger, the added protection making up for the evasiveness.
